Foodchain’s Light Locker Art Space is located within Grand Lane. Embedded within Scott Neoh and Hiroyasu Tsuri’s mural and viewable from Barrack Street, the site has been developed as a public exhibition space to showcase 2D and 3D works from local artists aged 35 and under. It provides an ongoing outlet for regular
exhibitions by young and emerging artists. Five debut artists have been selected for their connection to distinct art communities and ways of working. Each will choose an artist peer to exhibit in succedent bimonthly exhibitions. As well as creating a site-specific light box installation from September to October, exhibiting artists Alan Arazo, Natalie McKevitt, Jessie Mitchell, Jacob Ogden Smith and Caitlin Yardley nominate an artist peer to respond to their space during the next exhibition period. Without thematic parameters, the artists have created new works that employ a variety of approaches and mediums. They are best viewed at sundown when the lights turn on.
This place is beyond rad! I went back to see it at night time, and all the panels were lit up! I didn't have my camera on me too take some marvelous pictures, but heres some from the morning!
